Getting the keys
You are allowed to move into your apartment at 12.00 am on the day your tenancy begins, (if not advised otherwise by IOT). However, if the tenancy period starts on a weekend or on a national holiday, the possession right begins the next workday (Mon-Fri).
You can collect the apartment key(s) from the IOT office at the beginning of you tenancy, normally the 1st day of the month. When collecting the keys, remember to have your rental contract or passport/ ID with you. The keys will not be given without some of the documents mentioned.
The keys for the studios in Rasti and in Rastin siipi must be collected from the Murtokatu office and the keys for Ritakatu apartments from the Ritakatu office. See address and service hours below:

Other times (on Fridays) call the IOT caretaker, Mr. Teo Virtanen, tel. 0400 307 505 or Mr. Mika Mäkelä, tel. 0400 239 260 and make an appointment for getting the key(s). The caretakers service is Monday- Friday, 7 am-16.00 pm.
If you arrive in Tampere outside our office hours and caretaker`s service hours , you can authorize a tutor or a friend to pick up the keys for you. Send an e-mail to asuntotoimisto@insinoorioppilastalo.fi to name the person you have authorized to collect your keys from IOT. The authorized person must have an official ID with him/her when picking up your keys.
Please note: the authorized person must sign the rental contract on your behalf, if it has not been done earlier. Then he/ she is responsible for the key(s) as well as for the rental contract and its` obligations till you sign the rental contract. Therefore you must sign the rental contract as soon as possible!
If none of the above can be arranged, please note that you need to arrange housing for the first night(s) yourself!
